Installing the IPA client on your computer
The best way to launch IPA is by installing the IPA client directly on your computer.
Download the IPA installer here:
On the installer page, choose the installer designed for your computer's operating system.
After downloading, the installer will be placed on your desktop.
Open it and double click the icon of the computer to launch the installer:
Follow the steps to install the IPA client. You can install IPA in any location you choose on your computer.
Note: The installer has options to place a shortcut to IPA on your desktop and/or on your dock.
Save the executable file when prompted by clicking "Save File":
Open the executable file at the location saved (this may be in the 'downloads' folder for your browser, example below):
Please click 'OK' on any windows asking if you are sure you want to launch the installer. Then click 'Run' if prompted:
Launching IPA once the IPA client is installed on your computer
The installed IPA client app will remain in the dock or task bar if you had chosen that option:
Click it once to launch IPA.
The installed IPA client can be found in your programs folder like other applications and a desktop shortcut is also available if you had chosen that option:

You can launch IPA by clicking its application icon or shortcut like any other native desktop app and then logging in.
- You will no longer need to start IPA through the web login. This means you do not need to pre-install Java and you do not need to open a browser to launch IPA.
Note: it is important to understand that the installed IPA client requires an internet connection to function and is not available off line.
Once you click the installed IPA client you will see this login screen*:
For both Mac and PC:
Enter your IPA username (the email address that you registered to use with IPA) and password.
Remembering your password for you
If you check the Remember my password checkbox on the login screen, then the next time you launch IPA it will launch and won't ask for your credentials (as long as you launch IPA again within two weeks).
If you decide that you want IPA to "forget your password" -- i.e. to ask for your credentials again, then you will need to log out of IPA as follows:
Click the "Close IPA" link at the top right of the IPA application window and check the checkbox for "Also clear any remembered password"
